Why should Russia honor its cease fire agreement when the NATO dishonored its Agreements with Russia?

Russia was ured that NATO would never expand beyond Germany but surprise it has, I can sympathize with the Russian as it seems the US has had trouble honoring agreements since its westward expansion of the colonial times. Really if the US can invade Iraq a UN member with falsifying evidence of WMD why should Russia honor anythng on paper?
