How do i make my puppy's crate a safe place?

Hogarth is Eight Weeks old, and is a new addition to my house. I work full time but come home during lunchtime to care for him. I always try to play with him a bunch before I have to leave him so that he will sleep and not worry to much about me but I'm afraid that he's not thinking of his crate as a safe place. How do I get Hogarth to like his little home?
