Is what is going on in my house considered slight paranormal activity or a HAUNTING?

My boyfriends house is haunted too. He had a flag from his Grandpa from the Vietnam War and he heard footsteps every night till he redecorated and they stopped, but there is still a LOT of freaky things that go on, but at least the footsteps stopped.. If you have belongings of dead people take them out of the room because it will lessen, it's not a haunting it's just paranormal activity. Nothing to be worried about. I doubt they would hurt you they just live there.
