Russia and the preemptive nuclear strike against aggressor US - Is that in the cards ?

No. A strike would wipe us both off the map. The only way they could attack us and live, would be to sneak nukes into the country, and/or blame a terrorist state. As soon as the first bird were in the air, Russia would be a parking lot.
